Read more about this nurse's nomination story*:
I have professionally known Kaitlyn for over 3 years. We have grown together as educators in Northwell, and I have admired her innovation, ability to teach and her growth over the past 3 years. Kaitlyn has now become my leader, and took a chance on me, and hired me to Lenox Hill this year to be a part of her leadership team. I have seen her take on challenges with grace, keen knowledge, and confidence. I admire that she has grown into a director at such a young age personally and professionally.
Kaitlyn leads all of us by example. She is the most visible, and transformational leader I have ever had the pleasure of working for. She is on the unit daily, solving issues in real time, and shows the staff what a leader should look like. She speaks to the staff with respect, and ease, and they are all always comfortable coming to her, and speaking to her about anything they need.
She has taken on the Epic go-live transition in stride for our unit and has provided all of us with the leadership and confidence as a management team to move forward and be successful.
